How to upgrade

To upgrade blabws-server simply replace the files under /opt/blabws-server with the new ones and restart the websocket server.

Upgrade BlaB! WS client

Method 1: with overwriting

Navigate to AdminCP with your browser. Download the UPDATE ONLY pack from the product page, unzip and overwrite your existing installation. Press F5 to reload AdminCP - this will update the database.

The UPDATE ONLY pack is identical to the full initial pack with the following files/folders removed: /attachments /avatars /backgrounds /install /stickers config.php emocodes.php emoticons.css errors.txt sounds.js

Method 2: in a new folder

• Download the FULL PACK from the product page, unzip the files in a new empty directory e.g. /chat_new and remove /install, /attachments and config.php
• Upload /chat_new (and all files/subdirectories in it) to your server with an FTP program.
• Move your current config.php file and /attachments folder to /chat_new.
• Navigate with your browser to /chat_new/admin - the database will be updated automatically.
